Election Report Card Online (Updated 22 November)

Cut Greenhouse Pollution

The scientific community is clear. Unless we turn greenhouse pollution levels around within five years we risk leaving future Australians with a legacy of uncontrollable climate change. Right now, projections see our pollution rising through 2020 and beyond! We need to turn this around.

Switch to Green Energy

In a single year the nation already produces enough clean energy from sources like wind, hydro and solar to power the equivalent of Queensland’s annual household energy use about three times over. This is just the beginning. We can make sure all new electricity generation comes from clean energy.

International Leadership

Currently the only international law that exists to turn around greenhouse pollution is the Kyoto Protocol. We need to build on the Kyoto framework with strong, binding post 2012 reduction targets and even more investment in clean energy around the world.
