Rev. Sally Bingham comes to Australia

Reverend Sally Bingham visited Australia in September 2007.  Sally has been voted amongst the most influential religious leaders of our time largely due to the successes her eco faith network in the United States called Interfaith Power and Light.

She came to Australia to inspire our religious communities to establish similar networks and help shape public policy on climate change.

Sally's work encompasses the full range of advocacy.  At a practical level Interfaith Power and Light empowers religious communities of all faiths to lead by example and install clean renewable energy sources at their places of worship. At a broader level her Regeneration project has taken an interfaith perspective in to lobbying for environmental causes in Washington D.C.  Sally was also an instrumental support of California Governor Arnold's Schwarzenegger's ground breaking climate change laws.

Amongst Sally's public addresses were talks in Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide, as well as on ABC radio with Father Cleary and Christian radio station, 96Life in Brisbane.

Sally is the priest and the environmental Minister at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, California, and the eco faith network that includes a national network of 4,000 congregations with affiliates in 23 states.  Reverand Bingham has also supported Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s inspiring climate change policies.

Consequently Rev. Bingham has been voted third most influential environmental religious leader in the world by Grist magazine. She brings spiritual motivation and practical advice for how we can set up similar networks here in Australia.
