We welcome this positive speech which recognises taking action on climate change can help improve the way we farm and do business, and that we need policies for Australian leadership in developing solar and other clean energy.
It’s also good to see Malcolm Turnbull looking for ways to top up the Government’s inadequate pollution reduction targets.
But as well as moving beyond denial, we need more detail. What are their stronger pollution reduction targets? Will they stop the polluter handouts to old industries and how urgently will they move to create sustainable jobs in the clean industries of the 21st century and not rely on the mines and factories of last century?
